DS Copper/Gold Property Update
January 13, 2010

The Company is pleased to report that a land-use permit is now in hand, allowing the Company to proceed with its planned exploration program on the DS Property, located on southern Vancouver Island.

Camp construction has commenced and the camp is expected to be operational within a few days. Upon completion and staffing of the camp, line cutting to construct a grid will commence in advance of planned UTEM and Magnetic geophysical surveys of the property. SJ Geophysics of Delta BC has been retained to conduct these surveys. It is expected that the geophysical surveys will commence once a sufficient portion of the required grid construction has been completed.

The geophysical surveys will initially focus on the DS-1 Pit area, where the VMS formation contained within the Sicker/Karmutsen Volcanic Belt, has been previously exposed by logging road construction. Subject to confirmation by the results of the geophysical surveys, the formation exposed within the DS-1 Pit is intended to be the initial target of the planned diamond drill program.

The Company, as part of its initial assessment program, drained the DS-1 Pit of water and was thereby able to collect in-situ samples of the formation. Mineralization of these samples ranged from 0.10 gm/mt Au to 8.49 gm/mt Au, averaging a grade of 3.33 gm/mt over the 5 samples assayed. Copper mineralization ranged from 0.27% Cu to 3.63% Cu, for an average grade of 1.7% over the 5 samples, as summarized in the accompanying table.

SAMPLE WGHT Kg  Au gm/mt  Cu ppm
DSPB 1   2.06          0.96       5912
DSPB 2   1.67          6.81       36295
DSPB 3   2.19          0.29       17856
DSPB 4   2.46          0.10       2681
DSPB 5   2.95          8.498     21195

The assays were processed at Acme Labs of Vancouver, BC, an ISO accredited facility. The lab procedure includes the metallic screening process, in combination with standard Atomic Absorption analysis, to account for the nugget effect encountered with free-milling gold contained in the samples.

Due to the possible influence of the nugget effect on the assay results, the size of the samples tested was approximately 500 grams, larger than the usual 50 gram size. In addition, further testing of these samples is underway with a 1000 gram sample size to confirm these initial results.
