DS Copper/Gold Property Update
January 25, 2010

The Company is pleased to report that the exploration program on the DS Property, located on southern Vancouver Island is progressing on schedule.

Camp construction has been completed and the camp is now operational and staffed to provide support to work crews. A sufficient amount of grid has now been constructed, allowing the UTEM and Magnetic geophysical surveys to commence. A geophysical survey crew is now on site and is conducting the initial stage of the survey focusing on the DS-1 pit area.

The geophysical surveys will be followed by a diamond drill program, which is expected to commence mid-February. The diamond drill program will initially focus on the DS-1 Pit area, where the VMS formation contained within the Sicker/Karmutsen Volcanic Belt, has been previously exposed by logging road construction.

As previously reported (News Release dated January 13, 2010), The Company, as part of its initial assessment program, drained the DS-1 Pit of water and was thereby able to collect in-situ samples of the mineralized formation. Mineralization of these samples ranged from 0.10 gm/mt Au to 8.49 gm/mt Au, averaging a grade of 3.33 gm/mt over the 5 samples assayed. Copper mineralization ranged from 0.27% Cu to 3.63% Cu, for an average grade of 1.7% over the 5 samples, as summarized in the accompanying table.

The assays were processed at Acme Labs of Vancouver, BC, an ISO accredited facility. The lab procedure includes the metallic screening process, in combination with standard Atomic Absorption analysis, to account for the nugget effect encountered with free-milling gold contained in the samples. These results were obtained from samples of approximately 500 grams. Further testing of the same samples, using a 1000 gram sample size confirmed the accuracy of the Au content of the 500 gram samples, as the 1000 gram samples returned assays marginally higher for all 5 samples, as would be expected from a statistically larger sample.

Grid construction has also allowed for additional prospecting of the property in areas which would not be accessible without the cut grid. Float samples displaying the presence of Malachite and Azurite (Cu oxide derived from Cu bearing sulphides) have been collected from various locations along the grid, to-date, as far as 180 meters to the east of the DS-1 Pit area.
