DS Copper/Gold Project Update
The Company is pleased to report that the initial program of geophysical surveys has been completed at its DS Property located in the vicinity of Jordan River on Vancouver Island British Columbia.
The initial surveys were conducted on a grid of 1200 meters x 1200 meters, which was approximately centered on the DS-1 Pit.
The geophysical surveys included a proton magnetometric survey, a 3 Dimensional Induced Polarization survey and a UTEM survey.
The magnetic survey mapped the geology underlying the grid, detailing the location of an intermediate volcanic complex (Metochosin formation; Sicker Karmutsen volcanics) that has been bisected by a later stage mafic/ ultramafic dyke. The 3D I.P. survey identified areas of high resistivity (silicification) coincident with a low to moderate chargeability anomaly, indicating the presence of sulphides.
Initial interpretation of the geophysics indicates the presence of multiple series of parallel silicified zones (high resistivity) that have a strike length exceeding 250 meters. One of these geophysical anomalies lies directly beneath the DS-1 pit
The initial geophysical survey has allowed the Company to select drill targets over the multiple geophysical anomalies consistent with potentially mineralized formations. The initial core drilling will test the coincident magnetic, resistivity and chargeability anomalies that underlie the DS-1 pit. In-situ samples from this pit grading an average of 3.33gm/mt Au and 1.7% Cu were taken previously in the Company's exploration program (as reported in a News Release dated January 13, 2010).
A diamond drill has been mobilized to the DS Claims and drilling is expected to commence forthwith.
